It was recently brought to my attention that our blog is still up (thanks Gabriel, Paula and Russell!).
If you happen to come across this post, it would be lovely if you left a comment telling us what you're up to now!
Looking forward to hearing from you, hope you've all been well over the last 5 years!

6D has been studying different forms of poetry in class this term including Kennings, Haiku, Limericks and Acrostic poems. They never cease to amaze me with what fine poets they are! Some students typed their poetry during our computer time which can be found here.

Today in assembly, Franz received an extremely impressive award (and badge and trophy!) for placing in the top 10% in the Australian Maths Olympiad!
On behalf of the class, I'd like to say a massive CONGRATULATIONS to Franz on such an incredible achievement!

Today 6D conducted a Science Experiment to see if they could make an egg float by changing the level of salt in the water.

After much hard work and preparation, the Year 6 Games Day finally arrived... and it was a HUGE success!!!  A great day was had by the entire school, and I heard from many teachers how impressed they were with how well year 6 pulled the day together. Congratulations on a fantastic (and tiring) day!!!

This afternoon 6D created a multimedia landscape using white paper, coloured tissue paper and black paint. After choosing either a warm or cool colour palette, they practiced using water to produce varying shades of black to paint their shadows and detail.
Some students created their artwork on a special piece of card that can be made into a calendar, card set, mouse mat or iphone cover.
Please ask your child for a note if you'd like to order one.

Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a refreshing break, and are ready to work hard in the last term of the year!
This week in art, the students traced their silhouettes onto cardboard using the overhead projector. They then chose a background colour and designed a border using words and pictures to describe who they are.
On Tuesday, the students were asked to type their favourite piece of writing from this semester during our weekly computer time. These can be found here, or by clicking the 'writing' tab.
We also celebrated Cameron's Birthday in class on Friday with a delicious chocolate cake!

At around 5:15 on Thursday afternoon, the Year 5 and 6 students arrived home safely from an exhausting and exciting two nights away in Bathurst. It's safe to say a wonderful time was had by all (including me!). Click here to go to the Camp Photo Gallery!

Some of the students in 6D wore their team's colours to school today to help raise money for cancer.
